Schiller, Steve
Senior Advisor

Steve Schiller is a Senior Advisor at CIEE. He has twenty-five years of experience in the energy industry. Currently he is working with the Energy Commission to assist in the establishment of a Public Interest Natural Gas Research Program. He was the founder and CEO of a sixty-person energy engineering and project management firm, which he sold in 2000. His career has included senior management positions as well as project management roles. He has overseen the development and administration of energy programs in the United States and other countries. For project development companies and consulting firms, including his own, he has overseen staffs and business development activities as well as managed large-scale consulting, software, and project installation assignments. These assignments have included energy efficiency, load management, cogeneration and renewable energy projects. In addition, he has provided strategic planning services for public and private entities and energy project negotiation and dispute resolution services. Mr. Schiller is also an internationally recognized measurement and verification (M&V) expert having been responsible for many of the guidelines used in the energy industry and the M&V of projects with hundreds of MWs worth of savings. He is also on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change CDM methodology roster of experts. Mr. Schiller has an MS in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is a registeredMechanical Engineer in California.
