Rose, Virgil
Senior Advisor

Virgil Rose is a Senior Advisor at CIEE. He is currently working with the PIER Transmission Research Program. He has 35 years experience in the electric utility industry including consulting, power engineering, system operation, and management. He has had engineering and management assignments at virtually every level of the utility business from transmission and distribution design to being the head of the largest business unit at PG&E with over 15,000 employees. At PG&E, he was the Senior Vice President responsible for electric transmission and distribution. Over the past ten years he has been actively involved in providing consulting services related to T&D operations and technology deployment. He has a MS in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University and he graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard. He has professional affiliations with IEEE, CIRED, as well as being a registered electrical engineer in California.
