Diamond, Rick
Senior Advisor

Rick Diamond is a Senior Advisor at CIEE. Currently he is working with the California Energy Commission to assist the PIER Natural Gas Strategic Analysis program area with the development of research projects related to consumer behavior. He is also working with CIEE to develop support for research and development in behavior and decision making related to energy efficiency. In addition, he is a Staff Scientist and Deputy Group Leader of the Energy Performance of Buildings Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His research has focused on consumer behavior and user interactions with the built environment, including post occupancy and energy evaluations of housing, schools, and workplace environments. Dr. Diamond has a B.A. in Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard College, and an M. Arch. and Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. He has been on the faculty at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, the California College of Arts and Crafts, and as a visiting professor in the Architecture Department at UC Berkeley.
